Pedro IV sculpture in Avenida dos Aliados
This bronze statue was started in 1862. It is 10m in height. In his right hand, D. Pedro IV of Portugal (D. Pedro I of Brazil) is holding the constitution. On the pedestal are Porto city arms and house of Bragança arms. His disembarkment at Mindelo and the offering of his heart to the city are also portrait at the pedestal.
