Porto. Pç. do Cordoria

A beautiful little park close to the Clerigo´s Church
Alameda of the garden of the Cordoaria formed by bananas that are not vulgar, either by the age (last decade of 1860), or mainly by the form. They usually have short, disproportionately thick trunks (some with more than six meters of perimeter), due to an illness that deformed them still young ... After the disease that marked them, the bananas go through the years

That is an unusual line of trees. Interesting, too, that they are called bananas.

Fascinating. It looks like new trees have grown from the old stumps - very interesting.

the trees certainly appear well-anchored with the bulky trunks..

These trees are quite amazing looking ~V~

I agree with the others, very odd tree trunks, but excellent capture from this perspective. V.

The trees look as though they have been grafted. I wonder if there was a hard freeze at one time, or the groundskeeper pruned them hard, and these limbs sprouted afterward?

I agree, I've never seen trunks like those.
