The most representative and outstanding work in civil architecture in Potes is the Torre del Infantado. A bastion of the Villa and of the comarca of Liébana, this is a medieval building made of masonry, apart from the corner stones and arches. It is made up of four bodies and a rooftop terrace, with a cornice with modillions which held a barbican. This, in turn, was topped with battlements. Four small cubic towers remain, castellated in each corner. Open to the public after its opening on March 19th, 2011, after a long restoration project, the Torre del Infantado can hold thousands of visitors in its 1800 m2 area divided over 6 floors.
