In 1963, the Provincial Plan for Barcelona included a new protection project. The reinstatement
of Catalonia’s self-government opened the doors to the definitive protection of the space. Law
6/1982, of 6 May, therefore declared the Massís de Pedraforca a Natural Site of National Interest and in the year 1983, the legal protection of the area was completed with the declaration
of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.The declaration of the Natural Site of National
Interest, a status reserved under Catalan law for those areas characterised by their unique natural
value from a scientific, landscape and educational point of view, has made it possible to put a group of regulations for the protection of the Pedraforca massif into place
