Eusebi Güell did not commission Gaudí with just a simple property, but a palace, a monumental and luxurious residence, in accordance with the splendour of one of the most well-known families of Barcelona. Restricted by rather a small plot of land, the architect got over his problems by taking full adventage of the space available.
