El Muelle de Vega Terron is the river port of La Fregeneda , in Salamanca province . Located in the Agueda River , near its confluence with the River Duero . In this section the two rivers make natural border between Spain and Portugal .
It has a length of 100 m and a width of 25 m, and can dock vessels up to 80 m in length and with a draft of 3.7 m maximum.
Its construction was projected in the 1980s as a means of reviving the depressed economy of the border area and tried to take advantage, as in Portugal,of the Douro navigability for freight traffic. However this has never changed to this use and today is used only sporadically by tourist boats cruise boats
