Colores de Burano

The little island of Burano is so colorful and one of the stories I heard was that there are no house numbers, each house is painted in a different color so the postman knows where to deliver the mail. Another story is that the fishermen liked seeing their houses from the sea when they were returning home(which seems sweet but not particularly likely as the majority of houses arenīt visible from the water in any case). And, the other story is, that the colors identified the family with the house - PICK ONE!

A delightful scene, Jose.
I liked Burano for its colours and because it was so neatly maintained.

Wonderful colors on this street with a canal for a street. Great point of view and love the theories of why the houses are painted like that. V.

I like the curving canal, it adds a different dimension of interest to the colorful awning-shaded shops and homes.
