JOHN WILLIS
My Interest in Photography goes back a long way . . I had a Kodak Instamatic camera when I was about 15. I then progressed to a Zenith E 35mm camera and 135mm telephoto manual lens, shooting mostly Black & White and developing and printing the films myself.
The then hobby progressed into a full time job, photographing Weddings and Children, also freelancing for a weekly Motorcycle magazine. This took me all over the country photographing at various locations like Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Silverstone. As well as road racing events, I photographed Trials, Moto cross and Grass Track meetings. Santa Pod was also my monthly location for the Drag Racing. I loved the Motorcycle photography. My equipment was Canon film cameras and Canon manual focussing lenses - it amazes me how I ever managed to get the pictures in focus with the very high speeds they maintained. In those days, there was lots of travelling. I had to deliver the unprocessed films to Fleet Street on a Sunday after I had covered the event. How times have changed with the introduction of Digital !

My love in photography now is the shipping movements in and out of the Port of Felixstowe.

I use still use Canon cameras, but they are now Digital and auto focus.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my Galleries.
