:: Maldon, Essex ::
Maldon runs alongside the River Blackwater in Essex, and is the home of several old Thames Barges. They can be seen sailing along the River Blackwater and on the Essex Coastline most weekends.
I was lucky enough to spend three days on Pudge last year, she is also based at Maldon. We sailed her in one of the barge races that regularly take place off the Essex Coast. These skippers are very competitive, and there is some very close racing.
