Photos from a walk in the Bolimow Landscape Park (Bolimowski Park Krajobrazowy) - a protected area (Landscape Park) in central Poland, established in 1986, covering an area of 231.3 square kilometres (89.3 sq mi).
Forests cover more than 60% area of the Bolimowski Landscape Park. Area of the park is dominated mostly by pine trees, however there are also deciduous trees- oaks, lime trees, birch trees, maples - on sloughs also Alder and Fraxinus. Such colourful juxtaposition of trees is trully amazing. Small streams, sloughs, glades.
There are many unique species of flora and fauna in the Park.
More than 40 protected species and many endangered species on verge of extinction live within the borders of park (Ostericum palustre, Linnaea borealis, Huperzia selago, Wolffia arrhiza, Hierochloë odorata).
Convallaria majalis is also worth a mention. This plant is a symbol of the Bolimowski Landscape Park.
Park is inhabited by the Elk, the Wild Boar, the Roe Deer, the Red Fox, the European Hare, the European Badger, the European Otter, the Fallow Deer, the European Beaver and - the only venomous mammal in Poland - the Eurasian Water Shrew.
Also, many kinds of birds can be spotted: the Eurasian Bittern, the Black Stork, the White Stork, the Whooper Swan, the Western Marsh-harrier, the Common Kingfisher.
