The monument to Szmul Zygielbojm.
"I cannot remain silent and I cannot live while the remnants of Polish Jewry, whose representative I am, are being murdered"

Szmul Zygielbojm, leader of the Bund and a member of the National Council of the Polish government in exile.
Three weeks after the uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto broke out, he committed suicide in his London flat in protest at the passivity with which the world was permitting the Nazis to destroy the Jews of Europe.

"When the sun shines, we’ll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be a friend
Took an oath I'ma stick it out till the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella..."
