Old Townhall

Warsaw, Poland

The Jablonowskich Palace, built in 1773-1785 to J.Fontana\'s design. The former Town Hall of Warsaw.
In September 1939, from this building, the President of Warsaw, Stefan Starzynski, directed the civil defense of the city.
In 1944, during the Warsaw Urpising, it was destroyed and partly burnt. In 1952, completely dismounted.
Rebuilt in 1995-1997 (mainly the clock tower and facade), after the archaeological excavations which had discovered the foundations of the former Town Hall.
