Toy Vivo Trio

Avshalom Farjun showing his quanun (wooden ancient zither composed of 90 strings).

AVSHALOM FARJUN, a musician, quanun virtuoso, producer and creator of Nada Records – a recording company specializing in world music. He shares his time between Israel and Andalusia.
On his second solo album, released in 2005, titled „Toy Vivo” (in Andalucia meaning „I live”), the accompaniment is played by the most eminent Israeli pecussionist, Avi Agababa. Farjun continues and elaborates on trends from his first solo albums in “Laughing With Angels: Live Concert” recorded in Brussels in 2005. He adds Mediterranean elements to his non-traditional interpretations of Boustam Abraham’s songs. He also draws inspiration from flamenco, as well as from Indian and African musical traditions. Together with the very sensitive percussionist, Avi Agababa, he creates colorful musical language. Toy Vivo Trio interpret also traditional Andalusian music „Muwashah” based on works of Sheikh Abd Al Rahim Al Masloub.
