The synagogue was constructed in 1692-1700 and in that time was considered as one of the biggest and most beautiful in Europe.
In its architecture are united stylistic elements of baroque and late Renaissance. Three entrances are framed with luxuriant baroque portals.
During the Second World War sumptuously decorated interior was totally destroyed. Now the synagogue is under reconstruction process.
