The Oldest Sundial In Vienna

The vertical sundial on the south pillar of St. Stephen's cathedral was designed by the astronomer and professor at the University of Vienna Georg von Peuerbach in 1451.
It is made from a sandstone plate of approximately 80x80 cm size.
The sundial was restored in 2003.
