September Scavenger Hunt #22 - Sidewalk

SIDEWALK is the world I will always remember. The story goes back to my first visit to the US, as a student, who already knew English very well. I was surprised there was no place for pedestrians along the streets in American towns. I asked my American friend "why you don't have pavements over here?" and she did not understand what I'm talking about... When I explained, she shouted "ah, the sidewalks!!!"
You know, I was taught British English at school in Poland :)
