The Heroes' Gate and Museum were built on the site of the old castle gate in 1936 to in memory of the victims of World War I.
The gate is of a Neo-Romanesque style whilst the small museum above the gateway chronicles the history of the castle quarter.
When we enter the gate we are already in the Castle: in Vár utca (Castle Street).
