Korczmin - Wooden Church

Korczmin

Wooden Epiphany Greek-catholic Church was build in 1658. It is the oldest wooden Orthodox Church in Lubelski district.
It was devastated in the 1960s and rebuild in 1990s.
In Korczmin there is a copy of the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary (the original painting is now placed in the Orthodox Church in Lublin).

Korczmin (Kortchmyn) lies near the Polish-Ukrainian border. This place had been lived by
the Poles and the Ukrainians till the second world war. After the new demarcation of the area
most Ukrainian families were displaced to Ukrainian part of then Soviet Union.

Grand old church! Wish I could go inside and smell the aged wood in this ancient looking structure. V
