The house owes its name to a Baroque bas-relief located on the facade and featuring the Madonna with the baby Jesus.
Madonna is trampling a fierce-looking dragon underfoot.
The house was built by an Armenian merchant Soltan Sachwelowicz in the 17th century.
It is topped with a high attic and today it houses the Bernardo Morando Fine Arts State Secondary School.
