Town of Pidkamin is known for a Dominican monastery.
The complex is surrounded by walls and is located on the Rosary Hill that dominates the surrounding area.
It was first established by twelve monks from a monastery in Kiev, in 13thc. During the 17th century a fortified abbey was constructed.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the emergence of independent Ukraine, the ruins of the monastery were given to Ukrainian Greek Catholic Studite Monks in 1997.
Since then the church of Assumption of Holy Virgin (1612-95) is under reconstruction after the years of Soviet devastation, while it was turned into a stable.
