Very high temperatures throughout Poland (34 C in Warsaw today) have led authorities in Warsaw to install water curtains throughout the city to allow people to cool off from the heat.
Water curtains are generally used by fire rescue teams to separate areas from fire.
With temperatures reaching over 30 degrees Celsius, the 4 metre curtain of water has found a new use.
12 of the machines have been placed around Warsaw, and are to operate between 10 am – 6 pm in the city’s busiest areas during the ongoing heatwave.
