The Pantheon, Rome

Rome

A remarkable structure built by Roman Emperor, Hadrian (he also built a wall!). What is remarkable is the 2,000 year old concrete dome, perfectly contrasting with the exquisite marble of the church below. The light is from the centre of the dome which is completely open to the skies.

Possibly one of the most photogenic buildings in the world!
