Faringdon Folly Tower

Faringdon Oxfordshire

The Folly Tower is the most prominent architectural feature of Faringdon. Each Christmas & New Year, a local electrician sets up a different light in the tower which can be seen for miles around. But he is unlikely ever to surpass his first attempt back at the turn of the Millenium - a full scale marine lighthouse lamp which swept around the surrounding countryside and was visible from Swindon to Oxford. It finally put Faringdon on the map as having Britain's only inland lighthouse!

Very historical shot and I love the crown effect on top of the tower.
