Growing up on a farm with Pedigree Hereford Cattle, one bull always amused me by sitting up like a dog.
He was unusual because he stood up on his front legs first whereas 99.99% of cattle stand up hind-legs first.
Seeing this Hereford bull at the English Royal Show brought back memories of old 'Atok Barny'.
When my mom was in her teens she had lived on a farm. My grandfather owned quite a few cows and one day my mom was out in the pasture and she looked over and saw one of her cows sitting like a dog. His front legs where in between his back legs and she quickly ran in and grabbed her polaroid camera and snapped a picture. To this day she still has that picture and my older sister and I are getting it tattooed on us in rememberance of our grandfather. You'd be suprised at what cows are capable of doing.
My my...this brings back memories for me as well. I grew up on a farm where my father ran cattle for beef. Those cattle were Herefords for the longest time. This could be any one of several bulls dad owned, although they all got up hind feet first as I recall. :)

I agree... very, very unusual to see cattle stand up this way.
