Killhope North of England Lead Mining Museum
Catchy title isn't it?
After encouraging comments on my PAD shot of Killhope, I went back and took a few more. The noise on some of the pictures is due to the snow which was blowing horizontally all the time I was there.
Brrr never seen the place looking so cold, did you get a trip down the mine to warm up.
Hi Johnny, the weather conditions help to convey the bleakness of the place. bright sunny day wouldn't have been half as good. thanks for enduring the weather for our sake!
Mmm the gallery is looking good, glad you went back
It sure paid off to come back. This is an excelent gallery. As for the noise, it rather enhances than disrupts the images. The sepia tones also add to the atmosphere. Well done! Killhope is a strange name indeed, but I can imagine that one became hopeless after having worked in such a mine...
Working conditions were no doubt difficult & not to pleasant for one's health I imagine. A good piece of history, Johnny !!
Feel like I've stepped back in time, glad you went and got some more, makes a very different gallery. Love the fact it's snowy too, adds a lot to the bleakness. Well done.
