fostering relations

We live in an officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Every weekend and at holiday times there's an invasion of visitors,
they come from far and wide to enjoy the scenery and tranquility.
They picnic and barby by the burn or on the moors,
then on the way home they throw their f***ing crap out of the car window!!!!!
I makes me so angry I think my head is going to explo........BANG!!!!!!!

At the end of the lane was a landfill site until eighteen months ago,
now it just looks like any other field except for the yellow pipes sticking out of the ground.

Oh man.. you know this is a touchy subject with me. Here, it' used needles, condoms and everything else you can imagine. Sheesh!

Nice title! I hate it when people throw their stuff out the window rather than in a bin!

Years ago in the Smoky Mountain National Park we never saw trash. People seem to respect the beauty of this sanctuary. Now, a different breed has arrived it and litter is a constant problem both inside the park and in the surrounding countryside. We've become pigs.

I grew up in a similar situation, Johnny. Sad and upsetting. The drunk weekend revelers used to throw their beer bottles at mail boxes on their way home. Made me want to do bad things...
Guest 30-Jun-2006 07:01
yep, agree. whether its countryside or local park. even worse is when its dropped in town just feet away from a rubbish bin!

Kinda shows how humans are more animal than the wildlife that lives in these wonderful natural areas, eh?

If that's an Australian who dropped that Foster's can, kick his butt & send him home :>(
laine8230-Jun-2006 01:41
Makes me mad too...how hard is it to take it home with you & not trash the countryside.
Kathy Pedersen30-Jun-2006 00:48
I agree with you 100 percent. No excuses in life for littering.
Cindi Smith30-Jun-2006 00:04
Yeah, visitors probably from the US. We do have some bums over here doing the same thing. I say, if you pack it in, you pack it out.

Good shot, great commentary. I'm with you all the way.
ZAC, Aussies don't drink Fosters! LOL!
AL, Well done!
shatterbug29-Jun-2006 22:51
Maybe there are a few drops left? ;-) Excellent commentary on litterbugs!

Who are foster from this thing!!!
Scott Browne29-Jun-2006 21:17
Good image. I agree, a full can would make for better relations.

Grrrrrrr, now you have started something, you get this in the hills as well, walkers who will carry there lunch to the top of the mountain and then leave the rubbish behind. ALSO because we are rural our council will collect anything if you call them up, yet still you come across the odd vacuum cleaner in a hedge, or some bags of rubbish over the fence Grrrrrr, with you on this John

I know the feeling John, earlier this year I threw a can back at a car, unfortunatly the guy was much bigger and stronger than me which made me a touch nervous, but he accepted his error gracefully and took the can with him. ( Coke ).
Neil Horner29-Jun-2006 20:34
whats wrong with people ? dont they have bins at home ?
John Beck29-Jun-2006 20:23
Looks like it just Fostered ill will. (Rightly so I may hastily add).
Jim Ross29-Jun-2006 19:57
Dumb dumpers...
Zak29-Jun-2006 19:29
I bet this was tossed out of a car window by an angry Aussie after watching the Soccoroos get knocked out heheh
J. Scott Coile29-Jun-2006 19:25
Do they leave any unopened ;) Now that would be "fostering good relations" :) Littering is a nasty habit for sure!
