Meadow Brown ......

..... I think.

This is a shot from last weekend that I saved for a rainy day.

I wasn't sure about this one because of the two white spots on the "eye".
However Malcolm has confirmed it to be a Meadow Brown, which is very common ....
but the double white spots make it very rare.

I normally prefer my butterflies medium rare.

well-cooked to expectations...although a dry bite in the end...everyone knew him as 'dusty'..

nice catch! Perhaps its mum got a bit friendly with a Scotch Argus. ;-)

It must have gotten a tattoo... to set it apart from the other Browns. :)
