Old habits die hard, or alternately, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

This isn’t what I wanted to post. It’s a ‘nothing’ shot that has subject movement. I shoot a lot of these and then kick myself for wasting my time. That’s one of the reasons that I’ve started this project. Hopefully the future will show a marked improvement in shot selection. (This is swamp smartweed). I need to learn patience but I’m always ‘fearful’ that I’ll not get a shot to post for the day. Still, I’m trying to enjoy taking pictures, not look at it as a chore. And while that was true yesterday, it wasn’t true this morning.

It was relatively dark as this was shot with the aperture wide open, ISO 800, and 1/15-second. I also employed the camera’s self timer as I didn’t want to get my remote shutter release out. Evidently, a small puff of wind or falling water moved the subject ever so slightly.
