Oh my gosh. I know that cemetery. I'm from Xenia but haven't been east in years. Very nice shot.

The picture of the bug on the flower is cute but a correct name of both the bug and the flower should be in the caption. The flower is Echinacea coneflower and the bug is a Japanese beetle not a bug.

The images in this gallery are so peaceful and colorful. You can hear the sound of silence. Nature is such a great gift to mankind, but very few people know how to embrace it.

My husband took a job and moved us to Wichita, KS from Ohio. Every morning I wake up and think of (blessed) Ohio. Your photos of corn reminded me of the sweet evening air and soft sound of its growing. Yes, you can hear the corn grow. The winter skys, as you look out over the snow dusted fields, made me cry. I don't think that I will ever see the beautiful fall maple leaves again or remember the smell of autumn or the sound of leaves gently parting as I stroll in crisp fall air. I miss you so (my) Ohio!

Mr. Coffman:

I too grew up in Ohio - in Marion, back in the '50s and '60s - and your photos capture some essential spirit that I remember and think of from time to time, and miss. Something in the light, the lavis landscapes and desolation that makes your pictures especially poignant. My people are all gone from there now and so for me your pictures are like parting glances towards a world both present and gone.
