Wat Chedi Luang

Wat Chedi Luang (or Jedi Luang) was built in 1391. The massive chedi was expanded over the centuries, until it reached its final form in 1475, when King Tilokarat made it the home of the Emerald Buddha, which is now in the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo) in Bangkok. At one time the chedi was 144 feet wide and 282 feet tall. Unfortunately, it was heavily damaged by an earthquake in 1545.
