In May and June 1999 my wife and I visited the US and Canada for the first time on a 3 week fly-drive holiday from Seattle to San Francisco. We visited Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Parks, together with the cities of Seattle, Vancouver, Salt Lake and San Francisco. My images of that amazing journey - and introduction to the American West - are showcased in three galleries.

The first 'British Columbia and Alberta' Gallery covers our flight into Seattle from the UK and our visit to Vancouver, with pictures of Jasper, Banff and Kooteney National Parks.

The 'Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton Gallery' highlights the wonderful photography possible in these three awesome National Parks.

Finally, my 'Utah, Nevada and California' Gallery sums up the final stage of the journey from Jackson Hole to Salt Lake City and across the Bonneville Salt Flats, via Elko, to Lake Tahoe and on to San Francisco.

We travelled nearly 4000 miles - awestruck at the scenery and the photographic possibilities. All captured on a simple APS Camera!
