Today and yesterday our assignment at Fort Clatsop was to conduct a survey of the visitors as they were leaving. The survey is sponsored by the National Park Service and is conducted at every park. There are standardized forms. There is also very large instruction booklet which details the procedures to be used. All we have to do is hand out 50 of these forms in a 4 hour period. The idea is to get people to fill them out on the spot because then you are sure that they get completed. We have a mailbox handy for them to use. I guess we got about 45 completed on the spot. Ginny is particularly good at getting things done. She chats with the people as they are completing the survey. We have found that most people are willing to help out and complete a survey. For some reason others on the staff don't seem to like the survey assignment. Can't figure out why.

Obviously the others who don't like the survey don't have Ginny to help out.

It does not address said troubling issue, which seems only to be troubling to Washingtonians. Interestingly, we were amazed at how many people had lived in Texas at one time. Also, I found the only license plate in the parking lot, other than adjacent states, was Texas.

Good work! I believe in the value of surveys, but I hate filling them out. Does the survey address the troubling issue of transient Texans in Oregon?
