What did we do the first morning? We went clamming. Ginny likes clamming almost as much as she likes berries. I will tell you that it isn't my favorite thing, but this morning I had a great time. I think the reason is that we didn't go through the usual circus of getting ready and driving an hour and a half. One time when we first came out here the circus was Ginny's parents, five brothers and sisters and us. Nine people in a station wagon was pretty close quarters along with all the gear that was needed. At that time we used shovels, not clam guns.

Today the weather was decent. The only weird thing was that the low tide occured before dawn, so we started out with a flashlight. That is not too efficient. With the dawn, the clams finally started to show, and we ended up with three big ones and 15 small ones. Just about right for a big clam feed tonight. We are going again in the morning, but the low tide is thankfully after dawn.
