This is the Ft. Clatsop exhibit at the park. There is quite a bit of behind the scenes controversy about this 50x50 foot structure. The two contentious issues are (1) The exact site of the fort is unknown, although it is known with a high degree of certainty that it is within a stone's throw of being correct. (2)The fort is built according to a plan that Clark put in the journal, but there is no information about what was actually built except for a couple of cryptic remarks in the journals of others on the expedition. So, the "experts" have something to fight about. I think that "experts" need someting to argue about or they wouldn't be "experts."
