I don't know if you are familiar with the musical "The Music Man." It is a great show. Anyway, one of the songs in the show is the "Wells Fargo Wagon" which is about the wagon arriving in turn of the century River City (not to be confused with Notner, Renton or any other mythical location). Everyone is dreaming about the wonderful things they will be getting by mail order. Well, today I feel like I am in the same boat. The UPS wagon is going to be coming down the street with some great goodies from B&H Photo and Video. I can't wait to get my hands on the new toys. Unfortunately, I don't get done tutoring until midnight, so the unopened box sitting in the kitchen until then will drive me nuts!

Certainly we owe a debt of gratitude to whoever was thinking of us when they lowered the US$ value so much. I hope they are reelected so they can continue their great financial policy. They've also made it possible through the wonderful sub prime loan policy for me to consider buying a property in the south.
Well done whoever you may be.

Those of you who are denominated in anything but greenbacks are certainly going to enjoy the current exchange rate.

You could be right about the cabin fever John. But this time next week, weather permitting I will be on my way to the Sunshine State, made very affordable this year.

Somebody up there in Canada is obviously suffering from cabin fever and is spending far too much time googling or whatever. The statute you reference is applicable to business interests in Texas not individuals. For my business I have to collect local sales tax in these instances.

Actually, the federal government doesn't allow a tax on interstate business.

John, of course as a law abiding citizen you will be forwarding the 6.25 sales tax on your B&H purchases to Austin, and pay the Houston city sales tax as well.

The scanner has been used quite a bit. Also remember, every man needs a backlog of toys to play with.

Urgent message from Renton (which I hope exists!): you are not allowed to use any of those toys until the "much-ballyhooed" film scanner is put to use.
