Typical female response. I saw Ginny heading out with her new iPod to rake leaves. She wanted the iPod to listen to Spanish lessons while she did other stuff. This was her first outing with her new gadget. So I, of course, asked her to pose for a few photos. The response was "No, my hair isn't even combed." Ok, thought I, so the hell with it and I will go screw around with my photos and veg out until tutoring starts.

Well, about 10 minutes later I hear her come back into the house. She was talking to somebody, so I figured she was either on the phone or one of her goofy friends had stopped by. But she was speaking in tongues. Spanish. She was doing her lessons. I did my usual "ignore and it will take care of itself" routine and returned to indexing photos.

Then a minute later, I heard her calling my name up the stairwell. I ignored it once hoping it would take care of itself, but the calling persisted. Well, she had combed her hair and was now ready for a few photos. So, here she is raking leaves (or pine needles in this case) and doing her spanish lessons with her new iPod.

John - two questions -
1. I thought the gallery was what you did today - are you claiming credit for your wife's hard work.
2. Glad to see she's learning Spanish - it will be useful when it becomes the sole official language in Texas. !!

In a perfect world, the iPod would actually be a communications device that receives signals broadcast by The Man of The House, who issues commands left and right via radio to She Who Must Obey, with the intent of having all the household work done by her without his having to get out of the photo-indexing chair in his photo-indexing room. Sadly, we can only dream of such things...
