This is something I have been meaning to try for about 40 years. When I was in high school (president of the photo club, the Hypo Hounds) we had someone come by with some very interesting photos of trains (everybody takes photos of trains). What was neat is that he had a photo of a round house at night that was illuminated by walking through it and firing off dozens of flash bulbs. Remember them things? It struck me as cool and I stuck it in the back of mind mind in the junkyard of ideas.

So I figured I would try it. I set up the camera on a tripod, tried my best to get it focused, and opened the shutter. I then illuminated each bloom with a flashlight. I though it came off pretty cool.

This experiment is even better than the "one million reflections" project. Way to go!

I second Robert's idea of using different colors of light. Very clever

That is cool! It's like each blossom is its own lantern. Maybe you could try different colors of light and see what is mixed up?
