Some time ago Bloke and I did a formation night flight. All the while we were flying I was pondering how to capture the utter coolness of this adventure. We had a full moon and some cumulus, and the scene was almost surreal. Wingy was in the right seat on this flight. I came to the conclusion that there was no way to photograph it in the air and maintain any safety margin; besides, photography was going to be nearly impossible because of the very low light. I was sitting out at the hangar this morning watching the sunrise and drinking a cup of coffee when the inspiration hit me to do it this way. I think it is pretty cool.
