We did a bunch of model flying today. It was a good model day, and we had lots of fun, with the exception of a slight mishap wherein Bloke managed to crash one of his models. It became unresponsive on takeoff, a bad thing. Now the story behind this is interesting. We took the wreckage, or should we say disassembled aircraft, to the table and hooked it up. Everything worked fine. Then Bloke declared he found the problem, a switch on the control box was set incorrectly. These new fangled computer boxes are really great becuase they do wonderful things, but they are fraught with potential for disaster. I like my old Airtronics boxes because it is hard to screw up your settings, as long as you have the reverse switches right. There are zillions of ways to screw up on the computer boxes. Don't get me wrong, they are cool. I have two of them. Well actually one and a half since Bloke commandeered one of them.
So anyway, back to the photo. We ended the day back at the hangar enjoying a few adult beverages. My sons will note that we don't stock abysmal brews like Natty Light (sorry David and Robert, that is technically beer, but that's all). We enjoyed a good Sierra Nevada IPA. Actually, Mary Beth is holding Bloke's beer since she really drinks the female things like Bailey's Irish Cream and the like. Bloke was the photographer, using my S70.
