I went out to the airport this morning and was sitting out reading a book when I heard an airplane running up at the intersection. It was far enough away that I couldn't see exactly what it was, but it looked like a retractable taildragger. There aren't many GA airplanes like that, and I knew it wasn't a Swift. Well it taxied by and it turned out to be a Micco MAC-145B, according to the FAA N number lookup. I had never seen one of these before and it looked like a Swift on steroids. It was built on the Myers Aircraft type certificate. The original design was from 1948. The type certificate has been through many hands and is now owned by LanShe Aerospace. This particular example was built in 2000.
