It was another beautiful morning and I decided to fly the 170 and take some data. My objective was to get real high and get some GPS airspeed data. Well, I made it to 13,000 feet, with 200 fpm climb left. This shot only looks like 3,000 feet because my altimeter does not have a 10,000 hand. It was a cool 36 degrees F up there. I actually got a little chilly when flying away from the sun. The heater doesn't put out a whole lot of heat. My GPS data at 10,000 feet indicated 107 kts. The book says 102 knots, so we were a little bit better. At that altitude, maximum power is only 55%. Now, if I had a turbocharger......
