We started the day with a tour of the North Carolina State Capitol which was pretty good. There is a lot of history here. This was one of the last places that General Sherman "liberated" during the War Between the States. The only thing housed in the capitol building today is the governor's office. It was hard to imagine what it was like initially when all three branches of government were here. The legislature moved out in the early sixties when the Legislative Building was built.
I have always wondered how Virginia got started with the Virginia is for Lovers campaign, so I Binged it and found this. One of those ICYMI things I guess. Anyway, today's photo is Ginny at the Skippers, Virginia, welcome center on I-95. Ginny should be the poster girl for this promotion. Again today our navigation software pointed out a big traffic problem which we were able to avoid. That stuff is cool.
