Project Day 104 - Exile Day 54 - This was a great day. The electrical inspector returned and gave us a passing grade. That means that we can move back in. Apparently we don't need an occupancy permit. Ginny spent the day sealing floors. We had our refrigerator installed. It works well as far as I can see. It has a lot of controls including a Sabbath switch. You can press this button and the refrigerator will go into a suspended mode for our Jewish friends who observe the Sabbath in the traditional form. I had never seen that one before. In the same vein, I would think an Emergency Mode button should be there to rapidly chill warm bottles of beer that are put in the refrigerator. The guys also installed our washer and dryer. Now everything works in the house.

So the bottom line is that this is our last night in exile. We are just one day short of eight weeks. My going in position was that we would be out for eight weeks. Ginny is going over to the house early in the morning as usual and I am going to box up our stuff and start moving back home. She wants to do some more floor sealing and also resealing some of the old slate in the rest of the house.

The next weeks are going to be a mad rush to get things back into their usual places. We are going to move all the stuff in the storage container into the living room. The intent is to empty the container and get it out of the driveway as soon as possible. Some of the things can go right back to where they were initially, but there are a number of things that need sorting and disposal. There is plenty of room in the living room since we had to dispose of the couches because of the water damage. The things we had sent out for refurbishing will be returned on Wednesday. We will also get our drapes back this week. I am very much looking forward to a return to our home sweet home.
