Project Day 102 - Exile Day 52 - None of the hired guns worked today. The only guys who worked weekends were the painters. We went over and took care of the lawn. Actually Ginny did the mowing and I did the edging. I also re-installed the upstairs shelves, a simple, mindless task which I enjoyed. I installed those shelving units about 30 years ago and they have fared admirably all along.
In the afternoon Ginny went back to the house to seal some of the slate in the new floor. We have been frustrated with the job the contractor has done. Our expectation is that they do it right. Ginny told them how to do it right. They didn't and had to strip it back off the floor. Anyway, she put the first of three coats on the areas where the refrigerator and washer and dryer will be installed. Those are the remaining appliances that are awaiting installation. Once that is complete, our house will be fully functional. She is going to do another coat tomorrow. One more coat on Monday and we move the appliances in on Tuesday. That's the plan. We will see what happens.
When we got to the house this morning, Ginny noticed this cool spider web in one of the garbage cans. There was some nice sun to illuminate it. I shot some frames and came up with this. Spiders must be very industrious. They probably have to make a new web every day.
