Project Day 72 - Exile Day 22 - Lots of things going on at the job site. The tile guys installed the floor in the upstairs bathroom, After grouting tomorrow they will be able to start installing the vanities up there. What I hadn't realized was how much hand work goes into these cabinets. They were delivered completely assembled, but not finished. This crew spent the day sanding and filling. They made a lot of progress, but they still have about another day or so of work before the priming and painting can begin. The painting is a huge job. Not only the cabinets, but the whole upstairs walls, kitchen walls and downstairs bathroom walls. I was sent on a mission to get four paint samples (about quart size) for Ginny to test. She figured that if I wrote down the color numbers and handed it to the person at the paint store, I couldn't screw it up. They made up the samples quickly. I even got a 30% discount. I don't know why, but I took it and proudly told Ginny. She wasn't really all that impressed, she just wanted to make sure I got the right colors.
On another subject, today is the 66th anniversary of my first birthday party back in 1951. We lived in Bloomington, Illinois at the time. I didn't celebrate too much today since Ginny was busy at the project. We are going out for a steak dinner Sunday to celebrate.
