Project Day 65 - Exile Day 15 - Big doings on the romodeling front. The boys started laying the slate tile in the living room. Remember my mentioning the concept of theme yesterday? One theme that Ginny has been pursuing for many years is that all the flooring on the first floor will be slate. The last two rooms to be tiled are the kitchen and the living room, and now that we have the chance. She is very excited because it will be the fulfillment of a dream for her. I am happy for her. As for me, I always liked a carpeted living room, but I am willing to forego that preference for the sake of domestic tranquility.

Our head guy told us that the cabinet installation will start next Monday. That is very exciting. He said it will take a couple weeks. There is a lot of painting to be done. Also they have to install counter tops, sinks, fixtures and a stove top. That is a lot of work because we are having cabinets for the kitchen and three bathrooms installed. This was another of Ginny's themes. We are using the same cabinet design in all places.

Today's photo is looking into the living room from the front hall. They made a lot of progress in a short time. Maybe they can finish it all tomorrow.
