Project Day 60 - Exile Day 10 - The sheet rockers were back to tape and float their work. It turns out they went over it twice because the mud shrinks ever so slightly, so two coats are required. The plan is that Monday or Tuesday they will return to sand the whole thing. That will include three bathrooms which needed taping and floating after the previous wall paper was removed.

On the de-junkification front, Ginny's advertisement to give away the two couches for free resulted in several interested parties. The first to call arrived in late morning and we helped him get them into his trailer and away he went. Still have four large mirrors and an electric cook top to go. It is gratifying to see volume go out the door. These are the easy things. Ginny has ten large garbage bags full of linens that need to be sorted and donated. That will be a lot of work for her. The actual project will not require as much effort and supervision as during the demolition phase.

For me, the absolutely best thing about this whole remodeling project is that I will get a gas stove top. I have always wanted one. Todays photo is of the line that will eventually feed the cook top. It is newly installed, a feat that would never have happened if we hadn't removed all the sheet rock.
