We are heading back to Houston today after Christmas with Robert and his family. We stayed overnight in Montgomery and will spend tonight with friends in New Orleans. We have traveled the I-10/I-65/I-85 route to Atlanta countless times since 2002 when Robert started at Georgia Tech. On I-65 about 35 miles south of Montgomery is Priester's Pecans. Every time we go by it we say, "Gee, we ought to stop there and see what it is all about." Today was the day. As you might imagine, it is all about pecans. They have dozens of different ways to prepare pecans. They also have lots of samples so you can see what they taste like. After a careful tasting session, we decided on the Key Lime flavored variety. That may sound weird, but it is very good. They also have a giant gift shop. It features college paraphernalia for Auburn and the University of Alabama. No Texas stuff, what a surprise. This year the University of Alabama team has been on fire. Unfortunately, we can't watch the game this Saturday because it is on ESPN - BOO! We don't have cable.
