Why a boring photo of the front of our house? We sent one camera body and two lenses off to Canon in Virginia for maintenance. The camera body was Ginny's T5i. It had a heart attack and was always showing the "no card in camera" message. This happened on our trip when we were in North Dakota. She ended up doing quite well with her photography for the rest of the trip because her skill with the G-16 is top notch.
So today the camera body was returned and I went outside to be sure that it was in working order. This was not an artistic endeavor. It was purely a mechanical check out. Everything appeared to work properly.
One would expect that a camera body or a good lens should work without a hitch forever. It just isn't like that, however. In the case of the two lenses I sent in, they were doing just fine, optically. There were issues with the zoom mechanism. These are problems that are mostly annoying to me. I am looking forward to receiving the lenses back which should be in the next day or so. Although it is annoying to spend the money on repairs, I do like having everything in the photo kit working properly.
