The first thing we did today was visit the Thoroughbred Center. This is a training facility that can house over 1000 horses. With that many critters around, the natural question is what do you do with all the straw and manure that is mucked out of the stalls. The answer is that it gets baled, loaded on a flatbed truck and shipped to Kennett Square, PA. That is the mushroom capital of the United States. They chop it up and turn it into mushroom bedding. It is also interesting to note that my oldest son and his family live in Kennett Square. They are not mushroom barons, however.

In the afternoon we visited Town Branch Distilling, the last stop on our Bourbon Trail adventure. It was interesting because they filter their mash before distilling and they use pot stills. I would say their selections were not anything to write home about. They also have a brewery which we toured. We had some beer samples. They were OK.

So now with our Bourbon Trail passports complete, we headed to the Lexington Visitors Center to claim our prize: a T-shirt.
